L3eeb! seeks to understand the social implications of football in Saudi Arabia. Using my hometown of Al-Qatif as a point of departure, L3eeb! centers itself around the transformation of nonspaces to third spaces through football. In doing so, the project presents the sport as key social pillar that brings people together in their local communities. The project traverses the city’s local footballing landscape, weaving together stories of charitable tournaments, testaments of the past and the persistent will to gather and play.
This project was selected for the Saudi Visual Arts Commision’s 2025 Kingdom Photography Award
